The Witters
Nestled away on a private pond in Fort Ann, this family's back yard was a perfect backdrop for this dreamy Family Portrait Session. Sunbeams peeked through the trees and kissed the water perfectly giving some warmth to this cool Fall morning. Although it was early morning and the sun had barely woke, the Witter's children were ready to adventure and play, and the last thing any kid wants to do at the start of a new day are family photos! One thing I like to pride myself on during sessions is recognizing when kids are struggling and taking what I call a candid break. This is basically a time out from the posing to regroup and get comfortable . For the Witter's kids, this meant some mommy snuggles, salamander hunting and a little row around the pond. These breaks are where you catch the in-between magic moments. The spirit of a child, the genuine smiles, the sentimental realness you cant get from a staged photo. These breaks to me, are necessary for both the kids and the parents and always have resulted in some of my client's favorite images.
